Neptune Aviation Services and Northstar Air Express are located in Missoula, Montana with a satellite facility in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

COMPANY OPERATIONS:

Neptune contracts with the federal government to fight fires throughout the United States as well as rebuilds and services aircraft at its FAA approved maintenance repair facilities in Missoula and Alamogordo; its repair station is the largest in Montana.

Northstar Air Express, Neptune’s affiliate, is a full service Fixed Base Operator providing fuel and maintenance services to commercial airlines and the general aviation community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Each facility has its own repair station, including heavy and small fixed-wing and rotor aircraft maintenance, avionics installations and repair, engine repair and overhaul, propeller repair and overhaul, accessories repair and overall, Non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection techniques to perform Level II services, eddy current, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, structural repairs and modifications, engineering modifications, engine overhauls, FAA approved parts, as well as a fully operational computer aided precision machine shop. Headquarters in Missoula have 96,000 combined total square feet of heated hangar space.

FLEET:

  • Eight Lockheed P2V aircraft rebuilt and fitted with a maximum fire retardant capacity of 2,700 gallons with six door retardant dispensing tanks. Our impeccably maintained Lockheed P2V aircraft currently in use allow our customer to have a useful firefighting tool while we transition into a modern platform for the future.
