The primary mission of the American Helicopter Services & Aerial Firefighting Association (AHSAFA) is to promote, foster, and advance the common interests and welfare of the commercial aerial firefighting industry by establishing and maintaining effective communications between aircraft operators, the public, and government agencies. Additional missions include supporting government policies and directives that promote good business practices and the ability of member companies to operate their companies profitably. To achieve these goals, and enhance the integrity of the Association members, the AHSAFA will provide and/or promote the following:
- Services that directly benefit member operations and advance the commercial aerial firefighting industry.
- Programs that enhance aircraft safety, maintenance standards and increase public awareness of aerial firefighting operations.
- Provide information to the members regarding policies, directives, regulations, requirements and contract provisions for the various federal, state, and local government agencies.
